A series of webinars on smart medical products from Taiwan will be held in Taipei with hopes of offering the world a better understanding about Taiwan’s smart medical industry.

Over the past decade, medicine and technology have joined hands to help change people’s lives.

Today, global medical-related expenditure had already reached US$8.7 trillion, making the integration of two industries even more essential than before. And the healthcare and medical industry has become a huge business potential worth more than US$158 billion in applications of medical Internet of Things (IOT).

As extraordinary times come with extraordinary opportunities, Taiwan seized the moment to thrive and shine. Driven by both the pandemic crisis and the accelerating 5G trend,

GITCT partners with Elite Games for Philippine Game Friendship & Cooperation Day

In line with its thrust in promoting a creative industry with a clear vision for the IT-based culture, Gwangju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Industry's (GITCT) brought three unique and exciting games for Filipinos to try and enjoy.

Last November 7, 2919, GITCT partnered with Elite Games Inc. in inviting participants to be a part of a Focus Group Test at the Marco Polo Hotel in Pasig City. The event was attended by GITCT, Games and Amusements Board, Elite Global Sourcing Inc., Elite Games Inc., and Focus Group participants of all ages.

The day brought together various individuals who interacted, developed, and shared their ideas to improve games. It turned out to be a wonderful day for promoting cooperation between Korea and the Philippines.

About GITCT

The City of Gwangju has a rich history and unique culture. It is known as the core of Korea’s democracy and human rights movement, as well as its traditional music, art, and food.

GITCT’s goal is to attract the people’s attention to Culture Technology, an industry that brings together the innovative technical aspects of IT and the creative qualities of entertainment.

Through this process, GITCT hopes to promote the IT, creative industry, and culture of the Gwangju Province in the Republic of Korea. It aims to support local businesses, establish a network in Asia, establish a marketing agency to promote the region, and create a cultural content fund.

Focus Group Test

The opening speech was made by Jun Lasco of the Philippine National E-sports League, who mentioned the tremendous growth of e-sports that has become a billion-dollar industry. In the near future, e-sports training will be given to amateur players to transform them into professionals.
Romulo Reyes, managing director of Elite Global Sourcing Inc., talked about how gaming began and its evolution. In 1983, after the very first and acknowledged commercial game console was released, the video gaming industry was making $3.2 billion.

However, during the same year, the “Video Game Crash of 1983” happened where the market was saturated because of bad products and greedy producers. The crash nearly killed the future of the gaming industry. Reyes said that during this time there was a shortage of games that lasted for two years.

This changed when the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) boosted the gaming industry. By 2025, Variety said the industry’s projected global revenue will be $300 billion, a hundred times more than the 1983 figure. Reyes said the industry hasn't reached a hundred years yet unlike the movie industry, but there are more games today.
There are PC, console, and mobile games. As the industry continues to grow, there are virtual reality, augmented reality and cloud games (that use a 5G connection). The future of gaming is bright and most games are usually free nowadays, especially with Korea and the Philippines working together. Reyes said the company is fortunate to be working with GITCT in promoting a stronger relationship. GITCT does not focus on the gaming industry alone, but also other businesses and will provide scholarships for Filipino students.

Three Mobile games from South Korea were introduced that were used by game testers who provided important feedback. Most of them were teenagers and adults who were more comfortable playing mobile games because of their portability.

Testers were given a specific time to test the games and answer a survey afterward. To get feedback, the Game Developers themselves talked with the testers and asked their impressions about the game, what they liked the most, and what they disliked.

A short yet wonderful escape at Basilisk Hotel

Going for a short vacation and escaping the traffic in the city is quite nice. But long travel is quite exhausting too, that’s why we decided to go to Tagaytay last October with my younger brother, mom, and dad.

Finding a nice hotel is quite difficult due to the fact that Tagaytay has vast hotels and pensions to stay. It’s nice that we happened to stay at Basilisk Hotel just across Serin Ayala Malls.
That time they are celebrating their Halloween Party themed the Hogwarts. Employees were dressed like Hogwarts students and a movie marathon is also available.

Basilisk Hotel is a two-story boutique hotel conveniently located at 54 Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, Silang Crossing East, Tagaytay City just in front of Ayala Mall Serin.
If you’re coming from Manila using public transportation, just go to Pasay-Rotonda bus terminal at the back of Sogo Hotel near MRT Taft station. Ride a bus with a sign Tagaytay – Nasugbu Batangas and tell the driver your drop off is Ayala Mall Serin.

With themed rooms, you can choose based on availability. Another hotel feature is owning your own butler like a royalty in England.
The special feature of this hotel is their Themed Rooms. We happened to stay at Skyline Room, where my mom and brother enjoyed the yellow tub.
We will definitely be back in this hotel. Try also their newly opened restaurant "Kurt's Kitchen", (same with my name). I love their breakfast choices!

SM San Jose Christmas Village

It is truly the most wonderful time of the year as SM in San Jose del Monte City started to welcome shoppers with the presence of Santa Claus and the vibes of merry Christmas in every corner of the mall.

SM City San Jose del Monte turned its event area into Santa Claus Village wherein children, as well as shoppers, enjoy the traditional lighting of Christmas tree with the groovy music and different confetti drop.

Inspired by the most spectacular Santa Claus destination in the world which is the Santa Claus Village in Arctic Circle, SM City San Jose del Monte delight its customers to the ceremonial lighting of Christmas centerpiece and the 30-feet tall Christmas tree with series of performances from mainstream and city’s homegrown artists.

The celebration started with a supreme dance performance of “Jingle Bell Rock” from San Jose del Monte’s very own Kenyo Street Family, the champion in the recent World Supremacy Battlegrounds in Sydney Australia.

Together with FCPC Baliktanaw Dance Troupe, another homegrown talent from the city, Luke Mejares’ rendition of “White Christmas” and “Sleigh Ride” linger the celebration more magical. Also, Cinemalaya 2017 Best Actor and Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids contestant Noel Comia Jr’s version of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” made every child and teens grooving’.

SM City San Jose del Monte’s Mall Manager Mr. Jose Mari Emmanuel Correa invite shoppers to shop, dine and spend precious time with the people who matter the most, and continue creating unforgettable memories with family and loves ones at SM. He also encouraged mall goers to put a smile on underprivileged children’s faces by purchasing SM Cares Bears of joy for only P200. Shoppers get to keep one bear and donate the other to the chosen charitable institutions. “Because Christmas is also sharing love, happiness, and compassion to the less fortunate” Mr. Correa added.
With the ceremonial lighting of Christmas centerpiece, shoppers will surely feel the magic of Santa’s home as they ride the instagrammable red Santa’s sleigh. In addition, they will surely make an effort to strike a pose on the red sofa in front of the golden-red and shining 30-feet tall Christmas tree. Surrounding are different house-like stalls wherein customers can buy their favorite Christmas gift and favors.

The celebration continues with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus meet and greet. The generous couple started to spread love and joy to the children of Tungkong Mangga Integrated School by initially giving the SM Cares bears of joy.

And to cap the momentous day, SM City San Jose del Monte once again delight the shoppers and guests with a spectacular and magical fireworks display at the mall view deck and lagoon. Mall-goers will again witness this fireworks exhibition every Saturday of December at 7PM.
